TRAINING IN INTERPERSONAL SKILLS,
6th edition

Training in InterPersonal Skills (TIPS) is a fully, self-contained interpersonal skills training program. The underlying assumption in creating this book was that it is not enough to know about interpersonal skills. You have to be able to actually execute those skills.
TIPS is based on a 5-step learning model: (1) a self-assessment exercise to establish a base of your awareness; (2) a review of the concepts and behaviors that underlie the skill; (3) exercises to practice the behaviors; (4) reinforcement exercises; and (5) an action plan for applying the skills.
Examples of skills covered in TIPS include active listening, persuading, politicking, goal setting, motivating, facilitating teamwork, coaching, resolving conflicts, negotiation, and managing change.
